Professor Claire Roberts to represent Flinders University on CRF Board
The Channel 7 Children’s Research Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Claire Roberts to its Honorary Board, effective 23 June 2020.
Professor Roberts comes to the Board as representative of Foundation Member, Flinders University, succeeding Professor Ross McKinnon who has stepped down following three years of voluntary service.
Professor Roberts is an inaugural NHMRC Leadership Fellow and Professor and Matthew Flinders Fellow at the Flinders University College of Medicine and Public Health where she continues to leads the Pregnancy Health and Beyond Laboratory (PHaB Lab) that she moved in March 2020 after 25 years at University of Adelaide where she is an Adjunct Professor.
Professor Roberts is also an internationally recognized authority and thought leader in placenta research and has a strong interest in genetic and modifiable lifestyle factors, including maternal nutrition that contribute to health in pregnancy and long into the future for mother and child.
A past recipient of grants from the Channel 7 Children’s Research Foundation, Professor Roberts has also led research on large human pregnancy cohorts in Adelaide since 2005.
Professor Roberts is the current Chair of the Healthy Development Adelaide Executive Committee, which oversees the implementation of its scholars program, travel grants and event program.
In unison with welcoming Professor Roberts to the Channel 7 Children’s Research Foundation, the Board also wishes to acknowledge and greatly thank Professor Ross McKinnon for his honorary contributions to helping the Board with its dedication to enriching the lives of children through research into the cause, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of any condition which may affect the general health, education or welfare of children.
